For subscriptions or cancellations occurring midway through a month (i.e., dates other than the first or last day of the month), the Basic monthly charge (inclusive of free calls when using plans with free calls) will be prorated based on the number of days used. *Universal Service charge applies separately.

The Universal Service charge is billed at the rate of \7.35 per month for each phone number (line under contract) for each au mobile phone and data communication terminal under contract as of the end of each month. (For usage after January 2012, the charge may be changed.)

The amount actually billed will be the total of Basic monthly charges, mobile phone purchase payments (when installment payments apply), calling charges (for calls other than free calls), packet communication charges (for services not capped by upper limits when flat-rate packet communication charges apply), and charges for all other services used.

The amount actually billed will include taxes on the sum of pretax charges and will not be equal to the sum of individual after-tax charges. After-tax amounts shown will be rounded down to the nearest yen (except for calling and communication charges).
